Day 139: My Future Self.

An exercise in a self-improvement course I am taking, one that gives me new paradigms how to change the beliefs I have about myself that keep sabotaging many of my efforts, presented some real digging deep into me.

We had to write answers to many questions about what our future self would be doing different than now. I just really simplified this exercise because there are too many questions that we answered, in step fashion, for me to repeat it here. Besides, it belongs to the course, which I paid to take, and which is probably protected by copyrights.

Though, I think I can be safe in repeating, in a small paraphrasing way,” … what you consistently speak of (in terms of your beliefs), you will become…” That is so true, and that probably sums up why your life is turning out the way it is, good, bad, or just challenging.

In one of the exercises, we had to go through some steps to move our mind in a particular way of thinking and then create out of those steps an Identity Label (one of positivity). We are to repeat it, with conviction and emotion, daily and often, so that we can believe it and become it. What you consistently speak of, you will become. This identity statement, I imagine, can improve over time as you grow, but here is mine, for today, as I step into my Future Self, the way I want me to consistently be.

“I am a creative and resourceful mover, who never gives up on herself, and encourages awareness and empowers others to have the permission to do the same.”
