I am a Baby Boomer, born in 1953. I was just reading some articles about Gen Z on Medium and the many responses to what appears to be an attitude they may have in the workplace. Seems most talks these days are about Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, but I would like to share insights about the three generations before Gen X. (I have to wonder who names these generations, and why?)

The first being the Greatest Generation, 1901–1924 (some say 1927), my parents were both born in 1920. The Immigration Act of 1924 greatly restricted immigration.

Many of them were dealing with WWI, or the effects of it if they were too young to remember. If any, there are probably only a few of them alive today. If you know of them, ask them questions — I wished I had asked more of my parents, aunts and uncles and what they knew about their parents coming from Europe, because they are all passed, now.

This generation experienced many changes that, I believe, have shaped who we are, today. Progressive Reforms, sought to improve society…
