We all hate this…! I cried….
I could not even find a picture that depicts the construction in MN. It is everywhere. Major freeways and roads are down to one lane, closed for the weekend, and leaving drivers very few options. I have seen several miles of bumper-to-bumper cars just trying to get to work, or I assume that’s where they are heading.
Yesterday, I was going through a small suburb area from one city to the next, where I live. To get home, I had to travel over a small bridge that led me from St. Paul to Minneapolis. I don’t even understand what St. Paul was trying to do in the streets that would bring me to the bridge, but they had MANY orange cones and barrels situated in what I assumed was to lead us into lanes but didn’t allow us to exit. It was hard to figure out exactly where you were going to end up.
I was entering from a street that I thought was leading me into a bona fide lane. Evidently, another lane was entering the same spot and of course my car and another car were going to collide unless HE hit his brakes, because I didn’t even see him. He stuck his hand out the window giving me a ‘half’ peace sign, or its’ equivalent. I rolled down my window and yelled “We all hate this!”
I don’t know what to say anymore. We all are frustrated with this. We know we need our streets and bridges fixed, but do cities confer with each other? Who makes these decisions?
